How it all started…

I started this business as a hobby about 20 years ago, building small items such as crafts and toys for friends and family.  From there, I moved on to larger projects like hutches, coffee tables, end tables, and dressers, until I finally built my wife a new, big kitchen.  To the right is a hutch which was one of the first pieces of furniture I built and is still on display in our dining room.

While growing up, my dad was a logger, so I have always been around wood, which helped fuel my love for building things out of it.  I cut, mill, and dry all of my own wood to ensure the best possible lumber quality for all my projects.  When I dry the lumber, I dry it out to around 6% over about 6 to 8 weeks.  This slow drying process insures that the lumber will be the best possible quality.

All the items listed on my website are custom made and are not likely to be exactly the same due to the fact that I am always trying to improve on what I build.  If you need a specific size or variation with an item you see listed, call 812-327-8750 or send an email to Cherry Tree Cabinets and Furniture and I will do my best to provide you with the item the way you requested it.  If you have an item you would like to have built that I do not have listed, you can send me the specifications on it and I will quote a price for it.
